Sourav Ganguly will not be available as a player for the Pune Warriors franchise during next year’s IPL, a decision which was agreed upon mutually between Ganguly and the franchise. Ganguly, who was the captain of Pune Warriors last season, spoke to Subroto Roy, the owner of the Pune franchise, on Saturday night in this regard ahead of the October 31 deadline for the submission of the list of players for the next IPL. The decision marks an end to Ganguly’s competitive cricket career which spanned 22 years starting from his first-class debut in 1989-90.Ganguly also opted out of the Bengal Ranji Trophy squad for the upcoming season. Despite retiring from international cricket in 2008, Ganguly, 40, had continued to play the Ranji Trophy, captaining Bengal in most of their first-class matches last season. In Ganguly’s absence, Manoj Tiwary has been named Bengal captain for the 2012-13 season.One of the Bengal board’s joint secretaries, though, said that Ganguly could return later in the season. “He would not play the first two matches, but depending on our team’s position we may get his services later on,” Sujan Mukherjee said. “It’s a youthful side but we have players with international experience, looking forward to a positive season.”Ganguly had a difficult time last IPL season as the Pune team finished bottom of the table with just four wins in 16 matches. His personal form was similarly poor, as he managed only 268 runs in 15 innings at less than a run-a-ball and also looked slow in the field. A briga do Vasco contra o rebaixamento no Campeonato Brasileiro ficou mais fácil para o clube depois da chegada de Maxi López. O atacante já entrou em campo em 12 jogos com a camisa cruz-maltina, no período o time fez 12 gols, sendo dez com a participação direta do argentino (cinco marcados, quatro assistências e um corta-luz, na vitória diante do Cruzeiro, o último jogo, no domingo). López já se tornou essencial para a permanência do Vasco na Série A da competição nacional e mira em objetivos maiores nesta reta final de temporada.

– Estou me sentindo muito bem aqui no Vasco. Tenho procurado dar uma mão lá em cima, ser o ponto de referência do time lá na frente. Essa sequência que venho tendo tem sido muito boa, mas quero fazer mais para colocar o Vasco mais em cima na tabela. Sempre falo que o mais importante é o trabalho do time. Se a equipe estiver bem, eu também conseguirei fazer um bom papel no ataque – afirmou Maxi López, que acumula com o Vasco uma sequência de seis partidas sem derrota, ficando já perto da zona de classificação para a Conmebol Sul-Americana de 2019.

Este trabalho vem sendo comemorado pelo Vasco. Os resultados, principalmente em São Januário, são impressionantes neste Campeonato Brasileiro. وأعلن أوزيل اعتزاله كرة القدم نهائيًا اليوم الأربعاء، في بيان رسمي أصدره عبر حساباته الرسمية على مواقع التواصل الإجتماعي.

ونشر محمد النني مقطع فيديو له هو وأوزيل أثناء فترة مزاملته له في صفوف آرسنال الإنجليزي.

وكتب النني عبر صحفته الرسمية على “فيس بوك”: “شكرًا على كل الذكريات، أتمنى لك كل التوفيق في اعتزالك”.

أوزيل انتقل إلى آرسنال من ريال مدريد في عام 2013 واستمر في صفوف الجانرز حتى يناير 2021.

ولعب النني مع أوزيل في صفوف آرسنال بداية من عام 2016 حين انضم للفريق الإنجليزي قادمًا من بازل السويسري.

The payments issue of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been stirred once again with Ian Pont, the Dhaka Gladiators coach during the inaugural season, claiming he has not received half the money due to him. Pont’s allegation came two days after the six franchises missed the latest deadline – July 21 – to complete all payments.”I am personally missing 50% of my contracted amount and others are still awaiting re-imbursement of flights, expenses and original fees,” Pont wrote in an email. “Pieces of paper kept being produced showing bank transfers by the franchise, but they never took place. Players and staff have been given a whole host of excuses. Deadlines and promises remain broken.”The franchise, run by the Chowdhury family, has just stopped communicating. It’s not only very sad but totally unprofessional to run a business this way in my view.”However, Gazi Ashraf Hossain, the BPL governing council chairman, said that Pont had received his payment in full, though he wasn’t aware of any other clauses in his contract.”As far as I know, he [Pont] was the highest paid coach in the tournament and already got the full payment of $20,000,” Ashraf said. “I don’t know if there was a promise of any additional amount in the contract. If such a thing exists, I will still say that our priorities are player payments and tax issues. We will look into his claim afterwards.”In response, Pont wrote another e-mail: “I don’t really wish to talk about specific sums as they are and should be private. I can confirm that I have received half the amount stated in my contract. I don’t get the obsession with the amounts. If someone is owed a dollar, they are owed money.”Pont also claimed some Dhaka Gladiators’ players were willing to boycott their semi-final against Khulna Royal Bengals because they were not being paid. “The overseas players came to me and we had an emergency meeting where it was felt that boycotting the semi-final was a genuine option,” he said. “So much money was missing that the guys didn’t know what else they could try. But the players did not want to let the BPL down or the fans, which was the right thing to do.”I am amazed we remained focused enough to win the whole competition and it’s a testament to the players – overseas and local – when the only talk was about payments. It was hard to concentrate on the cricket with such an enormous distraction. After all, this is not simply a game for the players and staff, but it is their living.”Pont said he’d like to work in the BPL again but would quit the Dhaka franchise. “I anticipate returning to hopefully win the BPL again. It just won’t be with the Shihab Trading Company’s franchise. The fact is you cannot have players worrying if they are going to get their money. It just sends the wrong message.”Ashraf was disappointed with the irregular payments after the franchises missed yet another deadline. “We are a little frustrated with the payment issue. It would be nice for us if we could finish the inaugural tournament without any controversies, but still we have five months in hand before the next event to solve all the issues.”We have got verbal assurance from some franchises. Actually most of the franchises are now focusing on the revenue issue. You know a huge financial deal was involved in the event, so it’s not unlikely that they face some setback. I think we are in a learning process which will help us to arrange the next edition smoothly.”When asked whether the BPL would take tough action against a franchise that failed to settle the issue, Ashraf said: “The governing council will review all the things before taking any action. We hope the franchises can understand everything, so we are not in hurry.”

Kevin McClean, the Barbados fast bowler, has been drafted in as a replacement.Bishoo lost his Test place after the opening match against Australia, when Shane Shillingford was recalled. In 11 Tests he has taken 40 wickets at 39.55 and has also played 13 one-day internationals and four Twenty20s.Donovan Pagon is another player with brief Test experience having played two matches, while Devon Thomas, Leon Johnson and Nkrumah Bonner have played in one-day internationals or Twenty20s.Veerasammy Permaul, the Guyana left-arm spinner, will resume his role as captain and will have Barbados allrounder Jason Holder as his deputy.
